“ Pastor Shinjae Lee was born and raised in Korea and later lived in India, where he experienced diverse cultures, religions, and communities. Listening to the stories of people who held onto their faith amid discrimination and hardship deeply shaped his understanding of God and ministry. He later served in both Korean- and English-speaking churches in Atlanta and Boston.

He earned his Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and is completing his doctoral studies in theology at Boston College. His research focuses on the caste system in India, Dalit Christians, and questions of suffering and justice.

At the heart of Pastor Lee’s ministry is the belief that grace comes first—that God seeks us before we seek Him and loves us before we are worthy of that love. He believes following Jesus means listening to others, sharing in their joys and struggles, forgiving, serving, and standing alongside those who are hurting or experiencing injustice.

Pastor Lee hopes our church will be a community grounded in the Word, strengthened by prayer, and nurtured through genuine fellowship—a place where people of different cultures, languages, generations, and backgrounds can find a place to belong and say, “This is my church. I belong here.”

Above all, he hopes to walk alongside the congregation as one member of a community that listens, prays, serves, learns, and grows together in the way of Jesus.”

"Born and raised in NYC, Jane was called to New England after God changed her life during college. She received her M.Div from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and currently serves as the lead pastor for Presence Church, the english-speaking congregation at North Boston Korean UMC in Andover, MA. Jane served as the executive director of ARISE Ministries, a regional non-profit that serves the next generation of the Korean Church of New England, for some time as well. As a second-generation Korean American, her prayer is that the next generation would encounter and continue to look to the life-changing Jesus that set her free.

Jane is also a researcher. Jane is passionate about the importance of qualitative and quantitative research in the greater church of America and how research can be used to build up the Church by better informing its future. Of her past work, she is known for her Louisville-funded pastoral study project, HANA, that sought to learn more about the generations of the Korean Church of New England. Outside of research, Jane has varied previous experience in non-profit development and engagement, both in national non-profits and higher-ed institutions. Currently, she is the Director of Applied Research at the Emmanuel Gospel Center.

Jane currently lives in Dorchester, MA with her husband, Tim, where they live and work. In her free time, Jane considers rap, jazz, and interior design as her safe place. She is an avid reader, coffee lover, and a huge fan of the New York Knicks!"

“ Born and raised in Korea, Amy immigrated to the United States at the age of 10 with her family and grew up in New England, attending North Boston KUMC. North Boston is the church she has called home since her family settled in Massachusetts. Throughout her college years, she attended different churches in the area and returned to North Boston as a youth teacher in 2018. Ever since then, God has grown her heart to contend for the next generation and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She began serving as Youth Director in 2023, and in 2026 joined ARISE, a regional ministry serving the next generation of the Korean American Church in New England.

After graduating from Northeastern University, Amy is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary while working as a PR/Project Manager at a tech firm during the week. As a bi-vocational minister, she values living out her faith in the workplace and serving the church by stewarding the space of worship, where people can encounter God and His love, learn about who God is, and grow in their faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. Her prayer is that people would experience the love of God through the cross of Jesus Christ personally and tangibly in their lives, as it has completely transformed her own.

In her free time, you'll find Amy connecting with people over food or coffee/tea and taking every moment to be active outside when the weather is nice.”

“ We are grateful to have Thomas serving as a Sunday School teacher and caring mentor to our children. He lives in Reading, Massachusetts, and has spent most of his life in the state. Outside of church and work, he enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, soccer, and traveling.

Thomas was introduced to our church and Sunday School through his parents in 2019 and has been part of our church family ever since. He especially enjoys getting to know each child and listening to their unique stories, interests, and ideas.

The book of Ephesians has been especially meaningful to his faith journey, reminding him that we are created by God for a purpose and called to stand firm in faith.

His hope is that our children will grow up finding joy in their faith and refuge in God’s love. As they mature, he hopes they will share that love with others and have the courage to reach beyond what is familiar to care for those who are hurting around the world.

We are thankful for his continued commitment to our church and for the care and encouragement he brings to our children.”

“ We are grateful to have Daniel serving as a Sunday School teacher and an important part of our church family. Originally from Westford, Massachusetts, he enjoys studying, reading, watching shows, singing karaoke, and spending time relaxing outside of church and work.

He became part of our church through his parents and continued growing in faith through the youth group. After graduating from the youth group, he was invited to serve as a Sunday School teacher and has continued to share his time and faith with our children.

He especially enjoys the energy and curiosity of the children and loves hearing their stories and seeing their excitement each Sunday. His own faith has been shaped by many experiences in the church, particularly missionary work during his late teens and early twenties, where he experienced how God works through people and community.

Daniel’s hope is that our children will find comfort and belonging in the church, grow confident in their faith, and come to recognize God’s goodness through love, forgiveness, and peace. Above all, he prays that as they grow in God’s Word, they will discover the depth of God’s love for them and grow in their own love for God.

We are thankful for his continued service and for the care and faith he shares with our children.’
